Mother's Day Online Ordering Countdown

With Mother's Day just under two weeks away, it is time to get your online gift orders placed so that they will arrive in time to surprise that special mom on her day. This year Mother's Day is Sunday, May 13. Whether you know a brand new mom, empty nest mom or grandmother, it is nice to make them smile on this recognized day of celebration of mothers.

All items listed in my EDCCollective and EclecticSkeptic Etsy shops are ready to ship. If you see something you like, don't wait. I will be taking most of those items to a festival this Saturday, May 5. Pick out your favorite before someone in person does and give USPS the best chance of getting your order to you in a timely fashion.

Valentine's Day Gift Ideas 2015

Whether your Valentine is your sweetheart, mom, sister or good friend, you will find a variety of items in each of my Etsy shops to please them and let your Valentine know you are thinking of them. My ready to ship items with hearts in my EclecticSkeptic shop currently include keychains, cards, earrings and pins and in my EDCCollective shop hearts are currently found on zipper pulls in a variety of colors and earrings.

Mother’s Day Flowers

Many a mom receives a bouquet of flowers, roses or otherwise, on Mother’s Day. This year, put a twist on a bouquet with flower themed gifts that will continue to bloom long after Mother’s Day, or with a flower filled outing.

Give your mom a Mother’s Day Rose photographic art print that will bloom on her wall all year. In addition to floral prints, other photographic art flower themed gifts can include note cards, purse hangers and trinket dishes. Mother’s Day, May 11, falls within National Wildflower Week, May 5-11. If your mother is a nature and/or a garden lover she will appreciate some time spent with you taking in the views at a local garden, arboretum, or nature center. Bring your camera to get some shots of your mom stopping to smell the flowers. Top of your excursion with a light meal or treat.

Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas 2014

While red hearts are a more traditional color for Valentine’s Day, if your sweetheart also has a February birthday (birthstone amethyst) or has a penchant for color trends (2014’s Pantone color of the year is Radiant Orchid.) then you’ll want to check out my purple heart options.

Most of my EDCCollective Etsy shop’s current heart selections are purple. While I don’t have any purple hearts currently among my heart listings at EclecticSkeptic, you can find some in my sold items like the purple heart flying pig earrings seen in this post. I would be very happy to recreate any of my sold listings, that I still have the materials to do so, as a custom listing for you if you give me enough lead time.

Formal but Fun Father’s Day Gifts

While some men only opt for French cuffs that necessitate a pair of cufflinks when they reach for a tux, others enjoy wearing them to work or even on a casual dinner date. A plus of these cuffs is that you can change the bling (cufflinks) to suit your mood or just be a bit different when you wear a particular shirt.

Whether the man in your life favors wearing cufflinks with formal wear or collects them and wears them often, my online Etsy shop, EclecticSkeptic, features a couple of fun to formal designs that would be a nice addition to your guy’s wardrobe come Father’s Day. Both the flying pigs and the music notes are available in silver plated or gold plated cufflinks. The music note cufflinks can also be customized with initials.

The third Sunday of June is fast approaching. If you want a customized music note cufflink pair in time for Father’s Day this year, I need to hear from you very soon. I have a few pair of both the flying pig and music note cufflinks in stock and ready to ship to you to give as gifts. (Of course there is nothing to stop you from buying them for yourself if you have taken a fancy to them.)

If your guy doesn’t have a shirt with French cuffs, you could get him one in addition to a pair of cufflinks and then take him to dinner on Father’s Day so he can wear his new goodies.

Mother’s Day 2012

Here is wishing all of the Moms out there an early happy Mother’s Day. I am also sending a reminder to all of you out there with mothers to not let the day creep up on you. It is May 13, less than 3 weeks away. If you haven’t yet figured out what you are doing to let your mom know she is special, you need to hop to it.

Does your mom like to be taken out for a nice meal? If so, consider making your reservations now. Is your mom far away? If so, you can still treat her to a nice meal with a gift certificate to her favorite restaurant. Does your mom like to receive flowers?Whether she is near or far, you can arrange for a nice fresh floral arrangement or potted plant to brighten her day. You might also want to consider the gift of an everlasting floral gift such as my Mother’s Day Rose Matted Print. If your mom has a favorite flower, I may have a photographic art print of her favorite available such as this sunflower instead. Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas

If you are still searching for that perfect Valentine’s Day gift or card, there are still a handful of items with a heart theme in each of my shops, EDCCollective and EclecticSkeptic. All jewelry and accessories will arrive in a gift box, ready for you to add some ribbon and a bow for presenting to your Valentine.

If you are not a stickler for the heart theme but want something romantic for your guy or gal, a set of rustic wooden tea light candle holders or a wooden mini oil lamp holder to set the mood for a romantic “candle light” dinner may be more appropriate.

Hearts for Your Sweetheart

The perfect gift for your Valentine doesn’t have to include a heart. EDCCollective and EclecticSkeptic have plenty of great gift ideas sans hearts. However, while a heart themed item is a perfect gift for your sweetheart at any time of the year, it is especially appropriate for Valentine’s Day.

Each of my shops has a small selection of gifts with a heart, including whimsical Valentine’s Day cards at EclecticSkeptic.

There is still time for me to make a custom item for you to give if you contact me and we get the details worked out before the end of January.
