Eclectic Design Choices offers custom photographic art, jewelry and graphic design. I love the challenge of helping turn someone's vision into reality.
Creating the necklace pictured here began my journey in jewelry making in earnest. My husband had given me the focal pendant of the necklace that can also be worn as a pin. My mom offered to help me look for beads that would complement the amber and silver pendant and help me design and make a necklace to go with it. After spending some time looking for a bail that would allow me to take the pendant on and off as needed and finding a variety of amber, glass and metal beads to work with, we got to work. My mom shared with me her design experience and showed me some of her jewelry finishing techniques.
Two creative threads from when I was in high school combined to inspire my photographic art creations. It was then that my mom gave me a Pentax K1000 SLR camera. I also had the opportunity to dedicate more of my time to art in my high school electives. I especially enjoyed painting. Before I knew what Impressionism was, my paintings tended to take on similar characteristics. My photographic art starts with my love of photography when I use my, now digital, camera and culminates in a new image, digitally altered, that is informed by my creative self that enjoyed painting all those years ago.
