Raw Crystal and Polished Gemstone Point Jewelry

I love how using variations in my Etsy shop listings gives my customers several choices in just one listing. Case in point, two recent listings for gemstone point pendant necklaces.

I scored some really great polished double point gemstone pendants at a recent trade show that I paired with long silver plated chains. I am able to offer a choice between tiger's eye, rose quartz, purple and white fluorite and rainbow fluorite in the same listing. In the past I might have just made and listed one of those choices for sale to see how it did before committing more supplies to a final form.

Two replace a recently sold listing on Etsy, I needed to make another raw citrine point pendant necklace. While I was creating that necklace I was inspired to create two because of two beautiful but different citrine points, when I could not decide which to use. With variations there was no need to decide, I could list each as a choice. While I was at it, because I knew I could use variations to offer them all in one listing, I also created a quartz crystal natural point paired with amethyst pendant and an amethyst point necklace.

Variations hasn't made me go totally crazy committing all of my raw and polished gemstone points to finished pieces however. I still have a good supply waiting to become something special. If you would like to inquire about a custom design please contact me.

Spring 2016 Pantone Colors

In a departure from the past, Pantone has declared two, not one, colors as color of the year for 2016. They are rose quartz (a blush pink) and serenity (a calming light blue). Another difference this spring from recent years is to promote the same 10 colors for both men and women, a unisex palette, instead of having separate sets for men's and women's fashion. Rounding out the colors for spring 2016 are peach echo (soft orange), snorkel blue (soft navy), buttercup (sunny yellow), limpet shell (green leaning aqua), lilac gray (neutral gray with a hint of lilac), fiesta (a fiery yellow-based red), iced coffee (neutral brown) and green flash (spring green).

I am particularly fond of the choice of rose quartz and have included images of my quartz necklace that includes rose quartz beads and a new pair of gathering pins that incorporates rose quartz beads and lampwork beads with this color. You can also incorporate these colors into your home decor with a color wall, fabrics or home decor such as the green flash and buttercup found in my photographic art night light.

Earth Mother Gifts

Mother's Day is less than a month away. If you will be buying something and having it shipped, I strongly suggest that you order it at least a week before you need it to arrive. USPS has been rather slow since the first of the year and destinations that previously would receive their items by first class mail in 2-3 days have been taking a week on average. (USPS is closing and consolidating sort centers and has created a real slow down in mail service. Even priority mail has been slowed down from its norm. Enough of my rant, you have been warned, whether you are purchasing from me or somewhere else.)

If you would describe you mom as an earth mother, then she is likely to appreciate a gift of jewelry made with gemstones born of the earth. One such gemstone is quartz. When you think of quartz, the first thing that pops into mind is probably a clear crystal point. That is a very popular form, however there are other gemstones that would have also been clear quartz (SiO₂) if not for mineral impurities and inclusions.

I have several earring and necklace options available that are made with several gemstones in the quartz family. You can see jewelry in the image below that, as I am writing this, is available and ready to ship. I have many other quartz components available for custom creations too. Gemstones seen in the photo that might not come to mind right away when processing the word quartz are amethyst, citrine, tourmalinated quartz and rose quartz.
