EDC's Framed Photographic Art has Moved

I love to look at artwork in person that I am considering purchasing. I'm assuming that a lot of other people prefer to do this too as I have had much more success selling my photographic art in person at the few shows that I do each year than I do selling it in my online shops EDCCollective and EclecticSkeptic. Since my work is available to be seen face to face so infrequently, I really enjoyed having some of my ready to hang photographic art accepted on consignment at Gypsy Riddles Boutique & Gallery in Downtown Arlington for much of 2012. Unfortunately, this trendy boutique closed its doors as 2012 ran out, so I lost that venue for people to see my work up close and in person.

A bit of good luck blew my way however and I made a connection which has allowed me to have a couple of my pieces move over to another Downtown Arlington brick and mortar shop. You can find my "Dressed for Drinks" matted and framed photographic art print and my gallery wrapped canvas print of "Aliens have Landed" at the boutique and grocery on S. Mesquite Street called Potager's Other Stuff. The owner has a selection of other local artists' wares, wines, an assortment of organic groceries and more. They are also a pick up location for Urban Acres co-op style produce. It is a fun little shop and when the weather warms again, I plan to try some of their great sounding sorbets such as ginger lemongrass.

Happy Holidays Gift Market Vendor Applications

Earlier this year, I shared a post with you about how I was planning on helping promote the Arts in my area through 817ArtsAlliance. In addition to the listings and announcements that I described in that post, I am pleased to let you know that 817ArtsAlliance will be sponsoring a handcrafted and vintage holiday show this coming December.

Vendor applications are currently being accepted for Happy Holidays Gift Market (HHGM). Completed applications received by Sept. 9, 2012 and juried into the show will receive a discount on their booth fee.

HHGM will be held at the Maverick Activities Center (MAC), 500 W. Nedderman Dr., UTA, Arlington, TX on Friday and Saturday, December 7 - 8, 2012. The show will be open to the public on Friday from noon - 7 pm and Saturday from 10 am - 4 pm.

Information about Happy Holidays Gift Market, including the vendor FAQ, is found on the 817ArtsAlliance site. If you have any questions after reading the FAQ, please use the contact form on the 817ArtsAlliance site to ask your questions. After carefully reading the vendor FAQ, you will find a button to take you to the vendor application at the bottom of the page.

If you know anyone in the DFW area who might benefit from participating in this show, please share this post with them.

See EDC at a Local Craft Show

I’m going to “get my feet wet” and participate in a local craft fair. If you have wondered what my handmade items look like in person and/or if you want to give me some moral support and you are local to the DFW Metroplex, I would love to have you stop by.

Saturday, October 3, from 9am – 4pm, I will be set up at Arlington Parks and Recreation’s 39th annual Fall Craft Fair. It will be held in the Senior Recreation Center at 1000 Eunice St. in Arlington, TX. View Map. Admission and parking are free. Their flyer states, “Come shop for handmade crafts and special gifts and win door prizes!”

I have been adding to my inventory and tagging my items in preparation. I have set up a display in my living room to get an idea of how to arrange/display my items. (You can click on the images in this post to enlarge them.) There will be several items at the craft fair that are not listed in my shop, as well as all of my handmade items that are currently listed and don’t sell before the craft fair.

EDC (Eclectic Design Choices) will be sharing table B-20 with Earlene Moore of Breads & Moore. Please stop by and say hi.
